SwagCode Tutorial - Blog/Store Code
Did you sign up to Swag Bucks yet? Don't even know what a Swag Buck is?
This is a tutorial on how to find the Swag Codes - this one was Monday, June 7/10:
Every so often throughout the day, you should check the Swidget.
If you don't have one of your own, there is a Swidget located in the right hand column of this blog, down near the bottom of the page
and looks like the picture to the left.
What you do is click on the black SC Swag Code Button along the bottom, and a blue button that says
"Check if there's a Swag Code"
will pop up in the middle of the Swidget.
If there is no active code right now, it will say so:
"There is no Swag Code available. Please try again later."
When I clicked on it today, a Swag Code message was there -
"Code #3 is Afoot - It's too big - check the blog"
So the Swag Code for today was found in the SwagBucks blog!
So then we go to their SwagBucks blog at
http://blog.swagbucks.com/
where we found a post from The Swag Guy (TSG) called
Join the Hit Parade!
The important part says:
Today that's REALLY true. I've hidden a letter in each of the track pages in quotation marks. Find 'em all, unscramble them and you'll get yourself a 10 letter word worth a whopping 15 Swag Bucks! Remember that their case is important! You have until 2:30pm PDT today to get it.
So this Swag Code is a Scramble - you have to follow their link and find the letters, unscramble them and figure out the code. OK so the link was found in the first part of the blog post:
TSG's already told you about our Top Ten Tracks section of the Swag Store, where you can download the hottest tracks around!
When you find the letters in the store - some are capitalized, some are small - they have to stay that way, in the correct order.
So we click on their link and come to:
Snag the tracks that are currently topping the charts
So what they are telling us is that there is a Scramble letter on each MP3 single page description.
First one is Ke$ha "Tik Tok" (MP3 Single) and when we click on it, inside we find a letter in quotations - "O" - it's a capital letter, so we need to remember that.
I opened up NotePad and copied the letter in.
Next is Rhianna "Rude Boy" (MP3 Single) and when we click on it, inside we find a letter in quotations - "o" - it's a small letter, so we need to remember that.
Copy it into Notepad.
Next is Black Eyed Peas "I Gotta Feeling" (MP3 Single) and when we click on it, inside we find a letter in quotations - "V" - it's a capital letter, so we need to remember that.
Copy it into Notepad.
Next is Paramore "Brick By Boring Brick" (MP3 Single) and when we click on it, inside we find a letter in quotations - "U" - it's a capital letter, so we need to remember that.
Copy it into Notepad.
Next is Train "Hey Soul Sister" (MP3 Single) and when we click on it, inside we find a letter in quotations - "c" - it's a small letter, so we need to remember that.
Copy it into Notepad.
Next is Jason Derulo "In My Head" (MP3 Single) and when we click on it, inside we find a letter in quotations - "T" - it's a capital letter, so we need to remember that.
Copy it into Notepad.
Next is Usher feat. will.i.am "OMG" (MP3 Single) and when we click on it, inside we find a letter in quotations - "i" - it's a small letter, so we need to remember that.
Copy it into Notepad.
Next is Justin Bieber "Baby" (MP3 Single) and when we click on it, inside we find a letter in quotations - "s" - it's a small letter, so we need to remember that.
Copy it into Notepad.
Next is Lady Gaga "Alejandro" (MP3 Single) and when we click on it, inside we find a letter in quotations - "r" - it's a small letter, so we need to remember that.
Copy it into Notepad.
And last is Lady Antebellum "Need You Now" (MP3 Single) and when we click on it, inside we find a letter in quotations - "i" - it's a small letter, so we need to remember that.
Copy it into Notepad.
OK, now you have all 10 letters! And it looks like this:
OoVUcTisri
What in the world does that mean? Well, remember it's a Scramble, so you have to figure out which is the correct order to spell the winning code. Now, how do you do that?
What I did was go to the SwagBucks search engine and type in "unscramble letters".
Sometimes you will win for a search, so always search!
This found me Unscramble.net to help me!
So next we go to Unscramble.net and type in the letters we have found. Hit the Unscramble It button.
The winning word came out immediately!
victorius
OK, but we aren't done yet! Remember that the capitalization matters!
So going back to what we saved in NotePad, OoVUctisri - which we now know unscrambles to victorious.
So using the capitalization - that makes our winning code:
VicTOrioUs
Next you go the the SwagBucks.com home page and on the right hand side you will see a box like this one shown left.
In the white box under "Enter your Swag Code", paste in your code.
Now click the "Gimme" button. If you have put in the right code correctly, it will then say "You just received 15 Swag Bucks"!
And now you are 15 Swag Bucks richer!
Any questions you have that I didn't answer?
