Fuji EnviroMAX Review: Green Batteries
Our family, like most of you, cares very much about the environment. We recycle, we re-use and we do our best to reduce our waste. But batteries have been a constant problem.
The average family goes through a ton of batteries every year. Can you imagine the environmental impact?
Nearly 3,000 students at Centennial High School participated in "going green" this Earth Day, April 22, in a colossal "Battery Swap" as part of a school-wide lesson on batteries and the environment. They collected over a million batteries! VIDEO
There is a local battery recycling program that we use, but that doesn't help at the manufacturing end. At one time, all batteries were made with mercury and cadmium, which are heavy metals. These heavy metals, along with other materials, have been proven to be harmful to our environment.
So we were very happy to test these new Fuji EnviroMAX batteries that are Cadmium free. Mercury-free. PVC free. No ozone-depleting compounds. Nothing sent to the landfill. They even use recycled paper and plastics in their production.
Fuji EnviroMAX batteries set rigorous safety and quality control standards to help produce battery products that are safe for users and to the environment. I am proud to support such an eco-responsible company!
But the real questions how do they compare? Do they do the job? Do they last as long? So we put the Fuji EnviroMAX batteries to the test, in a touch light on our stairway.
In the past we had given up using the light because it was eating batteries, even though we rarely had the light in use for about 10 minutes at a time. When we found ourselves replacing the batteries every 3 days, we were frustrated.
So we thought that it would be a great test of the lifespan of these Fuji EnviroMAX batteries. Well, we got a week out of them - which means that light is useless and is going to be replaced! But more than double the battery power, and we found that the light shone brighter too! Pretty impressive for a green battery!
All in all, we were very impressed, and will be switching over all of our batteries to Fuji EnviroMAX as we need to replace them.
